Northern Wholesale Reports Extremely Positive Show

Minnesota-based regional distributor Northern Wholesale reports that its recent dealer show exceeded expectations.

“We had a very good show. We had great turnout above last year, both vendor participation and dealers. Dealers are very upbeat and optimistic: They came in ready to buy, ready to do some business. We’re still keying in some orders, so we couldn’t be happier,” said John Perron, RV division manager for Northern Wholesale.

Representatives from about 105 dealerships attended Northern’s show, Perron said, which was held Jan. 12 at the Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Red Wing, Minn. Vendors representing 110 product lines displayed their wares at the show, including two new vendors for 2010 – Valley Towing and Ming’s Mark, both of which reported very positive experiences at the show, according to Perron.

One new thing Northern did for this year’s show was have its own booth where it promoted its “Merchandising Idea Center,” which touted its ability to do store sets for dealers. Perron said that as a result of the booth Northern signed up nearly 20 dealers for new or remodeled store sets.

Northern also was pleased with attendance levels for its dealership educational classes put on by vendors, with 78 people attending out of the 80 who preregistered. The education classes were held at the resort Jan. 11, the day before the trade show began.

Northern Wholesale is already making plans for its 2011 show, which is scheduled for Jan. 10-11, again at the Treasure Island Resort & Casino.
