ARVC: Travel Promotion Act Could Bring Millions of Dollars in New Business to Campgrounds, Parks & Resorts

President Obama’s signing of the Travel Promotion Act could translate into millions of dollars in new business for campgrounds and RV parks in both rural and urban areas across the country, according to the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC).

RVDA of Canada: Dealers Not Following Up on Go RVing Leads

Ready-to-buy consumers are being ignored by Canadian dealers who aren’t following up with Go RVing leads, according to the recent RVDA of Canada eBulletin.

RVDA of Canada based its statement upon a recent Go RVing Canada survey of 400 Website visitors, which found only 11 percent of those visitors got a call. RVDA of Canada said that, extrapolating those findings, in 2009, 69,637 consumers gave permission t be contacted by tie-in program dealers, but 56,637 of them were left waiting for a call.

Ancira Motorhomes Now Carrying Newmar Products

NewmarNewmarNewmar Corp. has added Ancira Motorhomes as its newest dealer. Ancira will represent Newmar’s core Class A gas and diesel motorhome products, which include the Bay Star, Canyon Star, Ventana, and Dutch Star.

MBA to Offer Test Ride Insurance

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based MBA Insurance will offer a new insurance program covering customer test rides, beginning June 1. MBA says the new program will provide coverage for the dealer, the motorcycle, scooter or ATV, and the rider. RVDA to HUD: RV Dealerships Not Covered Under SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act

The RV Dealers Association has filed official comments with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) stating that Congress did not intend for RV dealerships to be covered under the SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act.

The Act directs state legislatures to adopt licensing requirements for mortgage loan originators.  In comments filed on March 5, RVDA said that RVs are classified as vehicles, and regulated as temporary accommodations by both federal and state government agencies.

Registration for Upcoming Trouble Shooter Clinic in Elkhart Highest Since 2007

RVIARVIAMore than 100 RV technicians have registered for the next Trouble Shooter Clinic (TSC), scheduled for March 8-12 at Ivy Tech Community College in Elkhart, Ind. Registration numbers for TSCs held in the Elkhart area are traditionally high, but next week’s TSC marks the first time in three years that TSC registration has topped 100 technicians, according to the RV Industry Association.

TengoInternet has relaunched RV Spirit.com. The RV-oriented site is viewed by 465,000 guests annually at the more than 900 RV resorts in the U.S., Canada and Mexico where TengoInternet provides wireless networks, according to the company.

With 2.2 million pageviews per year (2009 figure) the site is an integral part of the WiFi experience for hundreds of thousands of RV enthusiasts. To enhance the site’s usability RV Spirit.com has been redesigned with new features including current news, local guide, RV resort locator, and Google Web search. 

KOA Convention Set for Nov. 7-10 in Savannah, Ga.

Kampgrounds of America will host its annual KOA International Convention Nov. 7-10 in Savannah, Ga. The host hotel for the big event will be the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa.

The annual KOA Trade Expo, where vendors work with hundreds of KOA owners and managers, will be Nov. 9-10 at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center.
